In addition to recording a new album with AFI, Davey Havok has been working with the non-Gwen Stefani members of No Doubt -- guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young -- on a band called Dreamcar.
"A couple years ago, those guys approached me to ask me if I wanted to do a project with them, and it seemed really interesting," Havok tells ABC Radio. "They played me a little bit of music that they've been working on, and I loved it...so I decided to join them."
"I can't tell you what it sounds like," Havok laughs, but you'll likely be able to hear the debut Dreamcar album in 2017.
"We've been making a record, and it's almost done," he says.
Between Dreamcar and AFI -- whose 10th studio album, AFI (The Blood Album), arrives January 20 -- Havok will be having a very busy 2017, so he's looking forward to relaxing this Christmas.
"I am so excited for Christmas because the entertainment industry shuts down, which means I might be able to do nothing for a couple days, and that will be fantastic," Havok says. "Just wanna hang out with my brother."
