ATO RecordsAlabama Shakes guitarist Heath Fogg has announced a new project called Sun on Shade.
The debut, self-titled Sun on Shade will be released this Friday, June 26, and features a number of guest vocalists, as well as contributions from Hogg's Alabama Shakes band mates Ben Tanner, Zac Cockrell and Steve Johnson.
"Lyrically, it's just a conversation with a couple of friends," says Fogg of the project. "I never set out to do anything close to a solo record and I still don't see it that way."
You can download the first Sun on Shade single, "Tiger Lilies," featuring vocalist Lloyd Buchanan, now via digital outlets.
The most recent Alabama Shakes album is 2015's Grammy-winning Sound & Color. Frontwoman Brittany Howard released her debut solo record, Jaime, last September.
