The performance will be Brittany Howard's second appearance on the new Stephen Colbert-hosted program -- she also participated in the all-star jam on Sly & the Family Stone's 1968 hit "Everyday People" at the end of Colbert's inaugural episode.

In case you need more Alabama Shakes knowledge, Howard will be participating in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session later this week. The AMA will be held October 30 at 2 p.m. ET.

Last week, Howard was named Billboard's 2015 Women in Music "Powerhouse" artist. Howard will be honored with the award at the magazine's annual Women in Music gala, which will be held on December 11. The ceremony will air on Lifetime on December 18.

In November, Alabama Shakes will kick off a European tour in support of their sophomore album, Sound & Color. The album was the band's first to debut at number one on the Billboard 200.
