Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows feels performing “The Stage” in full ‘Could be pretty darn cool’

With its themes of artificial intelligence and strong visual style, it seems like The Stage would be a fitting album to perform live in full -- an idea that has crossed the mind of frontman M. Shadows.

"I always thought so when we first wrote it, but then I kinda got taken off the idea," Shadows tells ABC Radio. "I know a lot of bands have done it, and it kinda bums out some fans, but it's definitely up in the air. Because I feel like, man, it sure would be special to do it a couple times somewhere."

If Avenged Sevenfold were to perform The Stage in full, Shadows doesn't feel that their first full-scale European tour in support of the album would be the appropriate time.

"I don't know if we're gonna go all the way to Europe and do a full European tour and do two months over there, and then have a bunch of people that are upset that you're not playing 'Nightmare' and some of the other big songs," he adds.

However, Shadows feels that performing The Stage live in its entirety would definitely work in the right circumstances.

"I think doing something at the Hollywood Bowl...with an orchestra and playing the whole record front to back could be pretty darn cool," he says.

Avenged Sevenfold's European tour will conclude March 10 in Oslo, Norway. They'll return to the U.S. in April to headline the Las Rageous festival in Las Vegas.
