AWOLNATION returns with new track, “Passion”; teases “Born in the USA”-influenced new album

Red Bull RecordsReady the sails: AWOLNATION is back. Aaron Bruno's band has released a new track called "Passion," which you can download now via digital outlets. The song is also streaming with a lyric video now on YouTube.

"When all else is taken away, as long as your passion remains, anything is still possible," Bruno says of the track. "'Passion' is about finding the balance that can lift both you and those around you to make the world a more positive place. It doesn't matter what names or labels people throw at you."

"Passion" is the first preview of AWOLNATION's forthcoming third studio album, the follow-up to 2015's Run, which included the singles "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" and "I Am." Speaking with Billboard, Bruno says he wants the new record to be a "rock n' roll/pop album."

"And I say pop how we grew up listening to that in the sense of Dire Straits or [Bruce Springsteen's] Born in the U.S.A. or The Cars or Tom Petty or something like that," he says. "I felt like this was my opportunity do something like that because I haven't heard something quite like that in a long time."

"So I said, 'I'm gonna make Born in the U.S.A. 2017 AWOLNATION style,'" Bruno adds.

Details of AWOLNATION's third album will be announced shortly.
