Phil Bourne/RedfernsWhen Beck released his single "Wow" last summer, he announced that his new album would arrive in October. Well, October has long since come and gone, and the new Beck album has yet to arrive. Fortunately, the album is now due out in the spring.
Beck revealed the news in an interview with T: The New York Times Style Magazine. He also explains how the songs on the album reflect a "simple and uplifting and galvanizing" feeling.
"Those are the hardest [songs to write]," Beck says. "This new record I focused on that feeling. It's the easiest to fail at. Or to come off on one hand disingenuous, or on the other hand just trite, or, you know, there's that fine line between platitude and just the truth. And that fine line between making a big commotion and a bunch of movement and just actual unadulterated joy."
Beck's new album will be his first since 2014's Morning Phase, which won the Grammy for Album of the Year.
