KIDinaKORNER/Interscope RecordsX Ambassadors' "Renegades" is getting an electronic makeover, courtesy of Big Data, who's remixed the hit single for the forthcoming Renegades -- Remixes EP. Big Data's version of "Renegades," which you can listen to at Billboard.com, gives the song a dancier edge and adds a heavier bass to the chorus.
"I had a lot of fun working on this one -- lots of data in it," Big Data tells Billboard. "I kept hearing some of the vocal elements in more of a world-music context -- I really tried to zero in on that idea and bring in some global flavors to my remix."
Over the summer, "Renegades" spent 11 weeks at number one at alternative radio. Big Data is also familiar with the top of alternative radio -- their song "Dangerous," featuring Joywave, reached number one in the format last year.
Renegades -- Remixes, which also features remixes done by The Knocks and Ra Ra Riot, will be released September 25.
