ABC/Randy HolmesThis week, Billie Eilish's "bad guy" reached number one on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, her second leader on the tally following "bury a friend." As it turns out, she also made chart history.
As Billboard reports, Eilish is now just the third female solo artist to chart multiple number-one singles on Alternative Songs, following Sinead O'Connor and Alanis Morissette.
O'Connor led Alternative Songs twice in 1990 with "Nothing Compares 2 U" and "The Emperor's New Clothes," while Morissette topped the ranking in 1995 with "You Oughta Know" and "Hand in My Pocket" and again in 1996 with "Ironic."
At 17 years old, Eilish is now the youngest female solo artists with at least two Alternative Songs leaders.
Both "bad guy" and "bury a friend" are from Eilish's debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? Following its release at the end of March, Eilish charted 14 songs simultaneously on the Hot 100, the most for any female artist.
