Frank Hoensch/RedfernsTo all the people who are claiming rock is dead, Dave Grohl has two words for you: Billie Eilish.
According to Variety, the Foo Fighters frontman spoke about the 17-year-old "you should see me in a crown" phenom at Tuesday's Pollstar Live conference, and compared the fervor around her to the rise of his former band, Nirvana.
"My daughters are obsessed with Billie Eilish," Grohl said. "The same thing is happening with her that happened with Nirvana in 1991."
"People say, 'Is rock dead?'"he continued. "When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, rock and roll is not close to dead!"
Eilish's debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is due out March 29.
