Billie Eilish to receive ASCAP’s Vanguard Award

ABC/Randy HolmesThe year of Billie Eilish continues, as the 17-year-old phenom will be honored at the 2019 ASCAP Pop Music Awards, scheduled for May 16 in Beverly Hills, California.

Eilish, along with her brother and collaborator Finneas O'Connell, will be presented with the ASCAP Vanguard Award, which is given to artists who are "shaping the future of American music."

Previous Vanguard Award winners include include Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Beck, The Killers, Arcade Fire, St. Vincent and Portugal. the Man.

Last month, Eilish released her debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with the second-biggest sales week of any record this year.

Following her Coachella debut this weekend, Eilish will launch a North American tour in May.
