Billie Joe Armstrong’s Son Signs Record Deal

Credit: Marina Chavez Bille Joe Armstrong's youngest son Jakob Danger has signed with Burger Records, an independent label that focuses on power pop and garage rock. You can listen to Danger's song "King of the World," which has a certain early-'90s Green Day quality to it, now on SoundCloud.

Danger obviously has a long way to go if he wants to live up to his dad's band, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year in their first year of eligibility. Perhaps in 2040 Armstrong will be inducting Jakob Danger into the Hall of Fame.

Armstrong's oldest son, Joseph, is also in a band: a beach pop group called SWMRS.

As for Billie Joe's band, Green Day don't have any tour dates on the horizon, but a documentary about their seminal 2004 album American Idiot, called Heart Like a Hand Grenade, will hit theaters October 15.
