Credit: Linda BrownleeBlur made a surprise comeback earlier this year when they announced their first new album in more than a decade, The Magic Whip. Now, that comeback will be explored in a upcoming documentary called New World Towers.
Directed by Sam Wrench, New World Towers includes footage from Blur's concerts in London's Hyde Park and in Hong Kong, cut with clips of the band recording The Magic Whip in Hong Kong. The film also digs into the relationship between frontman Damon Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon, the latter of whom left the band in 2002. The Magic Whip is Blur's first full album to be recorded with the founding guitarist since 1999's 13.
New World Towers will be released in selected U.K. movie theaters on December 2. An international release will follow.
This week, Blur will play their final North American shows of the year in Los Angeles and New York City on October 20 and October 23, respectively.
