Brendon Urie was “very depressed” when Panic! at the Disco members left

ABC/Fred LeePanic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie says he was "very depressed" when guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker left the band in 2009.

Speaking in his ongoing video series with State Farm Insurance, Urie remembers being unable to leave his  house "for weeks" due to the emotional fallout from the split. As for how he got better, he got some advice from his friend and mentor, Rob Mathes.

"He said, 'Dude, just show up. If you just show up, things will happen. This isn't about you. Get out of your head,'" Urie recalls. "And I just started showing up to the places that people were asking me to go and great things started happening."

Urie will be showing up to a lot of places during Panic! at the Disco's upcoming U.S. tour in support of their new album Pray for the Wicked. The trek launches in January.
