Credit: Neil KrugBush's Gavin Rossdale is teasing the direction of the band's next album, which he tells Consequence of Sound will be "really heavy."
"I decided to make a really heavy record," Rossdale explains. "The last record I made [2017's Black and White Rainbows] was a bit more commercially minded because for whatever reason, I wanted to do that. But this time I was [inspired by] playing so many live shows and all these heavy metal festivals."
To pursue that goal, Rossdale recruited producer and film composer Tyler Bates, who worked with Marilyn Manson on his albums The Pale Emperor and Heaven Upside Down.
"Tyler is a fantastic musician and songwriter and it's just great," Rossdale says. "The band is sounding great and I think the songs came together great."
Rossdale expects the album to come out in the fall following their summer co-headlining tour with Live.
"It's going to devastate people!" Rossdale says of the new album.
Bush's tour with Live -- featuring both bands celebrating the 25th anniversary of their respective 1994 albums Sixteen Stone and Throwing Copper -- launches June 6 in Mashantucket, Connecticut and will wrap up at the beginning of September.
