In the clip, titled "Rad Times at Amory High," the band members play high school students who get revenge on the bullies who torment them. "Our video for 'You Got Spirit, Kid' gave us a chance to showcase a relaxed side of the band's personality," says frontman Claudio Sanchez in a statement. "With our love for '80s nostalgia, we decided to approach the treatment in a John Hughes or Steven Spielberg type fashion, allowing the spirit of youth and camaraderie to shine in each frame."
"You Got Spirit, Kid" is the lead single from Coheed and Cambria's forthcoming album, The Color Before the Sun, which will be released October 16. While the single's video references the Amory Wars, the sci-fi epic about the band's namesake characters that has been told throughout the band's previous seven albums, The Color Before the Sun will be the first Coheed and Cambria album to not continue the Amory Wars story.
Coheed and Cambria will embark on a short headlining tour in support of The Color Before the Sun starting October 11 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
