Coheed and Cambria Pays Tribute to Influences on New Song, “Eraser”

Credit: LeAnn MuellerCoheed and Cambria has unveiled another new song from their forthcoming album, The Color Before the Sun. Called "Eraser," the new track sees Claudio Sanchez and company embracing their early influences. You can listen to "Eraser" now at Noisey.com.

"To me, 'Eraser' embodies the music we grew up on maybe better than any other Coheed song to date," says drummer Josh Eppard in a statement. "We were little sponges in the '90s when the [Smashing] Pumpkins and Nirvana were creating a landscape all their own. I hear those bands in our song 'Eraser' and I'm extremely proud of that."

"Eraser" is the third track to be released from The Color Before the Sun, following "You Got Spirit, Kid" and "Here to Mars." The Color Before the Sun will be Coheed's first album to not continue the story of the Amory Wars, a sci-fi epic about the band's namesake characters. Instead, the album will focus on Sanchez's personal life.

The Color Before the Sun will be released on October 16.
