It took a "miracle" to get Coldplay back into the top 10 of Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart. The band's new track, "Miracles," has debuted at number nine on the chart. It's the band's first top 10 appearance since "A Sky Fall of Stars" gave them their first number one on that chart earlier this year.
Chris Martin and company wrote "Miracles" especially for the Angelina Jolie-directed drama Unbroken, which was released on Christmas Day.
Modest Mouse also debuted on the Hot Rock Songs chart with their first single in seven years, "Lampshades on Fire." It comes in at number 20. The song will appear on the band's forthcoming album, Strangers to Ourselves, which arrives on March 3. Modest Mouse's last album, 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
