Taxi drivers in Paris staged a protest against Uber's expansion into France on Thursday, and Courtney Love found herself in the middle of the chaos. In a series of tweets and Instagram posts, the former Hole frontwoman writes that her Uber was attacked during the protests.
"They've ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage," Love writes in one tweet. They're beating the cars with metal bats. This is France?? I'm safer in Baghdad." She also posted a photo on Instagram that looks like an egg smashed against her car's window.
Love then says she "paid some guys on motorcycles to sneak us out," and was "chased by a mob of taxi drivers who threw rocks, passed two police and they did nothing."
Finally, Love posted a photo of her and the aforementioned motorcycle riders, adding that "we got out after being held hostage for an hour thanks to these two guys."
"I'm scared out of my wits," Love concludes. "[French President] Mr. François Hollande president or libertine? I can't believe this really just happened. Love French people but your government blows #happytobealive #parisuberstrike"
