Dave Grohl Says President Obama Is a “Rocker”

Image Courtesy of ABC/Travis BellDave Grohl interviewed Barack Obama for the Foo Fighters documentary series Sonic Highways, and he came away with one conclusion: the President is a "rocker."

"He's genuinely cool," Grohl tells NME of the president.  "He's musically inclined.  He's very into Stevie Wonder, The Beatles and the [Rolling] Stones.  He's a rocker, he's cool."

During the 2012 Democratic National Convention, Foo Fighters performed their song "My Hero," which Grohl dedicated to President Obama.

Now that he's interviewed the leader of the free world, Grohl has set his sights on another hard-to-get interviewee: Bob Dylan.

"I figured that once I got the president, I could maybe get Dylan, but I think he may be the harder one to get!" he says.

The next Sonic Highways episode, which is focused on Austin, Texas, airs this Friday.  The Foos' new album, also called Sonic Highways, arrives November 10.

You can read the entire NME interview with Grohl in the British publication's November 5 issue.
