Disturbed's Immortalized is on track to become the band's fifth straight number-one album on the Billboard 200. The album, Disturbed's first in five years, is projected to sell around 90,000 equivalent album units -- which includes streaming and individual track sales -- for the week ending August 28.
If the projections hold true, then Disturbed's 2000 debut album, The Sickness, will be the band's only album to not reach number-one on the Billboard 200. Disturbed previously topped the chart with 2010's Asylum, 2008's Indestructible, 2005's Ten Thousand Fists and 2002's Believe.
Additionally, if Immortalized debuts at number-one, Disturbed will become just the third band to score at least five straight records that debuted in the top slot on the Billboard 200. The feat has so far only been achieved by Metallica, who have five straight number-one albums dating back to 1991's self-titled release, also known as The Black Album, and Dave Matthews Band, who have six straight number-one albums dating back to 1998's Before These Crowded Streets.
Immortalized is Disturbed's first album since the band went on hiatus in 2011. They played their first show in four years last week on the same day Immortalized was released. Disturbed will launch a full scale tour in support of Immortalized next March.
