Disturbed plans to go “deep” on “Evolution” tour: “It’s gonna be a big thing”

Credit: Travis ShinnDisturbed will launch a U.S. tour in support of their new album Evolution tonight in San Diego. Speaking to ABC Radio, frontman David Draiman says the trek will be unlike any past Disturbed tour, from both a set list and production standpoint.

"For the first time in our career, we're really going deep," Draiman reveals. "We're gonna be playing two-hour long sets on a nightly basis, it will span the discography."

He adds that the Chicago metallers will be "bringing out aspects of production utilized in a way that we've never used them" in order to add more "theatricality" to the show.

In addition to digging through their catalog, Disturbed will also be playing tracks from Evolution on the tour, from the heavy lead single "Are You Ready" to the album's more acoustic-driven songs. Draiman feels that the acoustic material in particular will help diversify the show.

"Having some of this other material now to play, the acoustic stuff, gives us a whole other dynamic to play with as well," Draiman explains.

Overall, Draiman believes that the tour will have something for new and old Disturbed fans alike.

"On a whole bunch of different levels, it's going to be an experience that hardcore Disturbed fans have never experienced from us, and that new Disturbed fans are going to truly, I feel, be blown away by," Draiman says.

"We're really looking forward to it," he continues. "There's a lot of time, effort, energy, money, hours, sweat, tears going into it, so it's gonna be a big thing."
