Eddie Vedder and Liam Gallagher to Pay Tribute to The Who at Benefit Concert

Image Courtesy of Jeffrey R. Staab/CBSBefore The Who launch their 50th anniversary tour, the legendary rock band's music will be celebrated at a one-off benefit concert to support the Teenage Cancer Trust.  Headlining the tribute will be two artists whose 30th anniversary is closer than their 50th: Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Oasis' Liam Gallagher.

The concert will take place November 11 at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.  Tickets will go on sale on October 31.

Also playing the benefit show will be Rush's Geddy Lee, Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson and Brody Dalle.  The show will be Gallagher's first appearance since his post-Oasis band Beady Eye broke up earlier this week.

The Who's Roger Daltrey is a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, and he's helped put together the charity's annual series of benefit shows at London's Royal Albert Hall since 2000.  The money the charity raises goes to take care of the special needs of teenage and young adult cancer patients by providing special hospital units designed with them in mind.  Teenage Cancer Trust also contributes funds for research, support services and education related to the disease.
