Eddie Vedder to Perform at Benefit Concert in Chicago

Jeffrey R. Staab/CBSPearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will perform at the Hot Stove Cool Music benefit concert next week in Chicago. The annual event, now in its fourth year, celebrates "music, baseball and giving back."

"We are thrilled and honored Eddie Vedder has volunteered to play the show and help raise money for deserving nonprofits in Chicago," says Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein in a statement. "Hot Stove Cool Music revolves around the power of music, baseball and community involvement. There's no better person to represent that spirit than Eddie. He's a rock legend, a tried-and-true Cubs fan and he has a tremendous heart. It will be a memorable night for everyone."

Epstein will also be attending the event, as will Wilco bassist John Stirratt, Cheap Trick drummer Daxx Nielsen and Umphrey's McGee guitarist Brendan Bayliss.

Hot Stove Cool Music will be held July 9 at the Metro in Chicago. Visit MetroChicago.com for ticket info.
