The Evanescence frontwoman gives a haunting rendition of the track, which was already pretty well stocked in the "haunting" department. You can listen to Lee's cover of "It's a Fire," and watch the accompanying black-and-white video now on YouTube.
"This song (and all of Dummy, actually) was a huge inspiration to me in my formative years," writes Lee of "It's a Fire" on Facebook. "I listened to the song recently for the first time in a long time, and fell in love with it all over again. The lyrics are so powerful, they helped me through so much. It is my honor to do this little homemade homage to a group I have loved so much for so long."
While Evanescence has been on break since 2012, Lee has kept quite busy. Last year, she released Aftermath, the soundtrack for the indie film, War Story, and she also scored the short film Indigo Grey: The Passage, which was released in September.
Evanescence will return for their first U.S. shows in November with dates in Nashville, Dallas and Los Angeles. Later that month, the band will perform at Ozzfest Japan alongside Ozzy & Friends, Korn, Of Mice & Men and Jane's Addiction.
