From its title to the single "Uma Thurman," Fall Out Boy's new album, American Beauty/American Psycho, is chock full of film references. So it make sense that the band would perform at the MTV Movie Awards, which take place this weekend. Pete Wentz revealed the news to Rolling Stone, saying their set at the awards show will be "something special."
"We're going to try for something pretty big and epic," Wentz says.
He adds that while Fall Out Boy hasn't decided which AB/AP cut to perform at the MTV Movie Awards, the band will be trying something new on stage. "Hopefully we can convince someone to get onstage with us," he says.
For their performance, Fall Out Boy is looking at AFI's 2006 appearance at the MTV Movie Awards for inspiration. "The past Movie Awards I've gone to, I've always seen great visuals," Wentz says.
The 2015 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by comedian Amy Schumer, will air April 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
