Fall Out Boy Unveils New Track, “Uma Thurman”

Image Courtesy of Island Records/DCD2 RecordsFall Out Boy has given us another preview of their forthcoming album, American Beauty/American Psycho, in the form of "Uma Thurman." The new track, which samples the theme song from the 60's TV show The Munsters, is streaming now on YouTube.

With lines like "She wants to dance like Uma Thurman," one might think the song is referring to the actress' famous dance moves in Pulp Fiction, but Pete Wentz says that the lyrics owe more to another Thurman-starring Quentin Tarantino film, Kill Bill.

"We thought a lot about Kill Bill and who [Thurman's] character was in that, and this kind of resilience and this violence, but there’s something that’s authentic about it (like a woman taking revenge or being empowered)," Wentz writes on FOB's website. "So that’s what the chorus of the song’s about, and the verses are what you would do to try and capture this woman’s affection."

In other FOB news, the band will be one of the 21 acts to perform at the month-long RodeoHouston Festival in Houston, Texas. They'll take the stage on March 8. Tickets will go on sale January 17 at 10 a.m. via RodeoHouston.com.

American Beauty/American Psycho will be released in full January 20.
