Foals Cover Florence + the Machine’s “What Kind of Man”

BB Gun Press; Tom BeardFoals gave Florence + the Machine's "What Kind of Man" a punk, guitar-heavy makeover during their performance Thursday on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge program. During the cover, Foals also dropped in the chorus from their song "What Went Down," the title track from their latest album.

While frontman Yannis Philippakis has been suffering from vocals issues of late -- Foals had to cancel the remainder of their South American tour earlier this month due to doctor's orders -- his voice sounded raw and powerful during the band's "What Kind of Man" cover.

Foals will return to the road with full strength in November on a tour of their native U.K. The band will embark on a U.S. tour in December.

Florence + the Machine, meanwhile, will conclude their North American run in support of their latest album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, with a headlining set at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience festival Friday, October 30.
