Foo Fighters have now announced the Windy City-centric lineup of guests who'll be performing with them at their August 29 show at Chicago's Wrigley Field.
The concert will feature the Foos, as well as a variety of bands who illustrate Chicago's musical heritage: Urge Overkill, Naked Raygun -- the first band Dave Grohl ever saw in concert -- and Cheap Trick. Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen appears in the Foos' Sonic Highways HBO series and on their new album. He also performed with them on The Late Show with David Letterman during last week's Foos residency.
Tickets for the Chicago show will go on sale Monday, October 27 at 10 a.m. CT at Cubs.com/Foo.
The first episode of Foo Fighters' HBO series Sonic Highways focused on Chicago. The series had its premiere at a place called The Cubby Bear, across from Wrigley Field. That's where Grohl saw that Naked Raygun show, all those years ago.
The Chicago date will be part of the Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways World Tour. They've yet to announce a complete list of U.S. dates. The Sonic Highways album is due out November 10.
