Foo Fighters Cover Band Books Gigs on Same Days as Cancelled Wembley Arena Shows

A British Foo Fighters cover band, aptly named UK Foo Fighters, will be playing gigs at the nearby Crystal Club on the same days as the cancelled Wembley shows.

"It is an absolute honor to confirm we will be playing Wembley this Friday and Saturday evening for fans from all over the world who have traveled to London this weekend, and for Dave [Grohl]  and Foo Fighters, who we know are gutted not to be playing," writes UK Foo Fighters on their Twitter.

During a secret show in England last year, the lead singer for UK Foo Fighters, Jay Apperley, joined the regular Foo Fighters on stage to sing the song "White Limo." In introducing Apperley, Grohl said, "Please welcome, me!"

Foo Fighters were forced to cancel the remainder of their U.K. tour, including their headlining spot at Glastonbury, after Grohl broke his leg falling off stage at a show in Sweden.

As of now, Foo Fighters' North American tour, scheduled to begin July 4 in Washington, D.C., has not been affected. A Boston Globe report posted Thursday claims that the Foos' shows at Fenway Park on July 18 and 19 are "still on."
