ABC/Adam TaylorFoo Fighters, Metallica and Guns N' Roses might be joining Van Halen for a giant show at New York City's Yankee Stadium next summer, if David Lee Roth is to be believed.
In an interview with Vulture, the effervescent Van Halen frontman said that the band "will be playing the same place that the Yankees play." When asked to confirm that Van Halen would be playing Yankee Stadium, Roth replied, "Yeah, but I can't … If I say something on tape here and everybody goes, 'Oh, this leaked…' But, the band will be -- I can't say."
After the interviewer pushed him to elaborate, Roth then said that he "contacted colleagues about being part of the show," including the Foos, Metallica and Guns N' Roses.
As for whether any of this is actually happening, that remains unclear. Schedule-wise, it's certainly conceivable -- Guns don't have any dates on the books yet for 2019, while Foo Fighters and Metallica will be in Europe during the summer, though they do have gaps in their itineraries.
Both Foo Fighters and Metallica will also be playing the upcoming Chris Cornell tribute concert, held January 16 in Los Angeles.
