Foo Fighters Release New Song, “Something from Nothing”

Image Courtesy of RCA RecordsJust like they promised, Foo Fighters have released the first song from their upcoming album, Sonic Highways. The song, entitled "Something from Nothing," hits all the right Foo Fighters notes: big guitar riffs, fast drumming and Dave Grohl's howling, raspy vocals. The guitar riff itself is reminiscent of Dio's "Holy Diver."

The first song from Sonic Highways comes a day before the premiere of Foo Fighters' HBO documentary series, Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, which debuts October 17 at 11 p.m. ET. The series follows the band as they travel from studio to studio across the country recording their album and talking to famous and influential artists along the way.  The album arrives November 10.

Foo Fighters are currently in the midst of a week-long residency on The Late Show with David Letterman. Last night's episode had the Foos performing ""Polk Salad Annie"with singer-songwriter Tony Joe White.
