Clay Patrick McBrideThe Damned Things, a supergroup featuring Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley, Anthrax's Scott Ian, Volbeat's Rob Caggiano and Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley, released just one album before going on hiatus. While no reunion plans have been explicitly discussed, Buckley says that "there's no 'no' being said."
"Me and Joe talk all the time, we're still very good friends," Buckley tells Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta on his podcast The Jasta Show. "I talk to Rob all the time and Andy and Scott, and we all keep in touch and we're just kinda keeping that door open."
The Damned Things released their lone album, Ironiclast, in 2010. The album featured the single "We've Got a Situation Here," which reached the top-25 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
"I think that's a good thing about the band is that it's kind of timeless," Buckley says. "It's just rock music, we could revisit it in three years or 10 years."
If The Damned Things were to reunite, expect there to be less "thought" this time around.
"I feel like we thought too hard about a lot of stuff in that band," Buckley says. "I think a lot of the production was very slick and overthought." Of course, he adds, "That's not a bad thing, at all."
