Mikey Way is writing a new comic book called Collapser, which will be published under his brother and former MCR band mate Gerard Way's DC Comics imprint, Young Animal.
Collapser, co-written by Shaun Simon and illustrated by Ilias Kyriazis, is about a "wannabe DJ" named Liam who discovers a package "containing a black hole that gives him amazing powers and draws him into a cosmic conflict far beyond anything he’d ever imagined." It'll be available July 17.
Young Animal, which had been on hiatus since last summer, will also release Gerard's next entry in his Doom Patrol series, titled Weight of the Worlds, on July 3.
The Way brothers recently reunited musically as well, when Mikey played bass on Gerard's solo song "Baby You're a Haunted House," which was released last October.
Meanwhile, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, the live-action adaptation of Gerard's comic book series of the same name, has been renewed for a second season. Season one premiered in February.
