Gorillaz Returns with Politically-Charged New Track, “Hallelujah Money”

ParlophoneGorillaz is officially back: Damon Albarn's virtual band has released "Hallelujah Money," their first new song in six years. You can listen to the politically-charged track, and watch the accompanying video, now on via Uproxx.

"Dark times - u need someone to look up to. Me," Gorillaz writes on Twitter. "Here's a lightning bolt of truth in a black night."

"Hallelujah Money" features lead vocals from English poet and musician Benjamin Clementine, while Albarn's falsetto creeps in during the chorus.

The fifth studio album from Gorillaz is expected to be released later this year.
