Grouplove Cancels Tour Dates Due to Singer Hannah Hooper’s Vocal Cord Issues

ABC/Randy HolmesGrouplove has canceled the majority of their upcoming tour dates as singer Hannah Hooper continues to struggle with vocal cord issues.

"We deeply regret to announce that Hannah's vocal cord issue that cause some tour cancellations in December continues to persist," the band writes. "On her doctor's recommendation, she is unable to do any sustained touring due to the stress of singing almost nightly.

"This is absolutely heartbreaking for us," the note continues. "We were very much looking forward to seeing you all on our spring tour and visiting cities we had never been to."

Almost all of the dates on Grouplove's headlining tour, which was scheduled to begin January 30 in Knoxville, Tennessee, have been canceled. However, the band still plans to play a select few shows, including a co-headlining gig with Two Door Cinema Club in Santa Barbara, California on April 14, both weekends at Coachella, and a date at Red Rocks in Colorado with The Head and the Heart on August 2.

"Our plan now is for Hannah to recover fully so that we can get back out there as soon as possible and tour without interruption," Grouplove writes. "In the meantime, we will be able to do a few isolated shows that will allow her voice to properly rest between performances."

Here are Grouplove's currently scheduled tour dates:

3/3 -- Phoenix, AZ, McDowell Music Festival
4/14 -- Santa Barbara, CA, Santa Barbara Bowl
4/16 -- Indio, CA, Coachella
4/23 -- Indio, CA, Coachella
8/2 -- Morrison, CO, Red Rocks Amphitheater
