The first week of sales for Halsey's Badlands were anything but bad. The alt-pop singer-songwriter's first full-length album has debuted number two on the Billboard 200 with 115,000 equivalent album units sold, 97,000 of which were pure album sales.
Badlands features the single "New Americana," which currently sits in the top 25 at Alternative radio.
While 115,000 equivalent album units might've been good for number-one on the Billboard 200 in weeks past, Badlands was released the same week as R&B star The Weeknd's new album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which took top spot with 412,000 equivalent album units, the second-best debut of the year. Halsey probably doesn't feel too bad coming in second to The Weeknd, though, as she will be touring with the singer in November.
Halsey will launch her own headlining tour in support of Badlands on September 30 in San Diego.
