Iggy Pop joins Metallica onstage in Mexico City

ABC/Randy Holmes; ABC/Randy HolmesIggy Pop has been opening for Metallica recently, and on the band's final show in Mexico City on Sunday night, he joined them onstage.

According to Metallica's Twitter feed, Iggy and the band jammed out on the Stooges' song "T.V. Eye", from the legendary proto-punk band's seminal 1970 album Fun House.  "It was epic!" the band wrote.  Video of the performance has been posted on You Tube.

Introducing Iggy, James Hetfield told the audience, "Metallica has much respect for the man coming out here to sing a song with us. And we're grateful that he's been able to be on this Mexico City tour with us. Please show your sign of respect and love for Mr. Iggy Pop!"
