Imagine Dragons Share New Track, “Believer”

KIDinaKORNER/Interscope RecordsFor The Monkees, it was "her face," but for Dan Reynolds, it's "pain" that made him a believer. That's what he sings on the brand new Imagine Dragons song, called "Believer," which is available now via digital outlets.

"This last year has really been the most centered and positive of my life," says Reynolds in a statement. "This song explains my realization that the emotional pain I faced the last few years actually helped me progress to this healthier mental space -- that adversity truly is what helps you become a believer in yourself."

Reynolds struggles with a chronic inflammatory condition called ankylosing spondylitis [AN-kel-OH-sing spohn'-dih-LIE-tis], or AS. The disease causes harsh pain, and, in severe cases, spinal fusion. Since receiving proper treatment for AS, Reynolds is now in "remission," though he does still experience flare-ups from time to time.

"Believer" will be featured in the Super Bowl commercial for the new Nintendo video came console, the Nintendo Switch. Both the 30-second and extended cut version of the ad are streaming now on YouTube.

Imagine Dragons are currently working on their third album, their follow-up to 2015's Smoke + Mirrors.
