Imagine Dragons will be searching for the rainbow connection this fall when they guest on ABC's The Muppets TV series, which premieres on September 22.
"We just filmed a segment with Imagine Dragons," announced writer and executive producer Bob Kushell at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday. "So, yes, there will be very top notch singer-songwriters, performers, bands on the show and musical acts. But the show is not a variety show, it's not about that."
As for how musical acts like Imagine Dragons will fit into The Muppets, Kushell explains that they will be guests on Miss Piggy's talk show, Up Late with Miss Piggy. The series follows The Muppets as they work on the production of Up Late.
"It's about what happens behind-the-scenes at Up Late with Miss Piggy, and that's what you're gonna see," Kushell says. "So you'll see parts of the show with those bands on the show, but there won't be a full act, per se."
The Muppets premieres September 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
