Imagine Dragons to headline NYC concert celebrating servicemembers and veterans

Daniel N JohnsonThis year, Imagine Dragons will be making sure Memorial Day Weekend isn't just an extra day off.

The band will headline an event called Side by Side: A Celebration of Service, which will honor servicemen and women, military veterans and their families. The two-part event will take place May 25 at two of New York City's famous landmarks: Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall.

Coinciding with New York City's annual Fleet Week, Side by Side starts at noon on the 25th, as active military, veterans, their families and members of the general public will gather in Rockefeller Center for activities, including free performances by Boyz II Men, Gavin DeGraw and cast members from the hit Broadway shows Jersey Boys and Wicked.

Then, that same night, Imagine Dragons will rock Radio City Music Hall, and servicemembers and veterans will receive hundreds of free tickets to the show. If you want to attend, the general public can buy tickets starting Friday, March 29 at 12 p.m ET via Ticketmaster.

The entire event is being sponsored by New York healthcare company Northwell Health, which provides medical care and behavioral health treatment for veterans struggling with PTSD, and helps newly returned veterans get jobs and get acclimated to civilian life.
