Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor is set to publish his new book on July 7, and he's given fans a taste with an excerpt in The Guardian.
The excerpt, from You’re Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look at the Common Misconception that Humans Have Any Common Sense Left, is a comic, expletive-filled piece that examines why people buy things they do not need and wonders what aliens would think of the human race. Taylor also discusses what annoys him about his fellow man.
"Yes, I worry about what the aliens will think of us,” he writes. “I’m no ancient astronaut theorist. I don’t think we’ve been visited by a more advanced species. I don’t think they’re plotting to come invade. I think if they’re watching, they’re doing the same thing I am: wondering why the f**k you people are mesmerized by all of this half-a**ed entertainment. They’re sitting in their spaceships watching our habits and they’ve come to the conclusion that we’re all apes in designer clothes. They think we’re f**king dumbasses.”
Preorders for the book are being taken now on Amazon.com.
