In Light of Cellphone-Swatting Past, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Acknowledges Hypocrisy of Fan-Filmed Video

Scott Legato/WireImageDuring a Slipknot show over the summer, Corey Taylor caused a bit of stir when he swatted the cellphone out of a texting concertgoer's hand. Taylor later defended his actions by declaring, "If you're gonna text, stay home." So this week, when the band released a live video of their song "Before I Forget" compiled completely from fan-filmed footage, one Slipknot devotee cried hypocrisy.

"@CoreyTaylorRock Ya smack dudes phones outta their hand but then make a video with fan's phone footage? Can I use my phone or not, man?" the fan asked the musician on Twitter.

To his credit, Taylor recognized the inconsistency.

"Hahahaha F***, you make a damn good point," Taylor responded. He then concluded, "Yeah, I'm an a******."
