Jack White Taps Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita as New Touring Keyboardist

Image Courtesy of Mary Ellen MatthewsAfter cancelling his tour dates in Mexico following the death of his keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, Jack White will resume touring starting November 7 in Istanbul, Turkey. In a statement posted on the Third Man Records website, White announced that Queens of the Stone Age member Dean Fertita will now be part of his touring lineup.

"Although it is impossible to replace Ikey, the incredibly talented Dean Fertita will be joining the band to play piano and keyboard for all of Jack's currently announced tour dates," the statement reads.

Owens died from from a heart attack earlier this month.

Fertita previously played guitar with White's band The Dead Weather, whose lineup also includes The Kills' Alison Mosshart and The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence.

White will be touring Europe through November 19. He returns to North America next year for a stop in Nashville, Tennessee and New York City's Madison Square Garden on January 28 and January 30, respectively.
