Jack White’s Third Man Records to Release Jay Z’s “Magna Carta…Holy Grail” as Vinyl Set

Credit: Mary Ellen MatthewsJack White's Third Man Records is releasing Jay Z's Magna Carta…Holy Grail as a limited edition vinyl collection. The set, featuring the rapper's 2013 album spread across eight seven-inch records, will be limited to only 1,000 numbered copies, and will be available at the Third Man Records store in Nashville on March 20.

"Playing on the theme of redacted government documents and expanding it into a full, clothbound binder with the entirety of the Magna Carta…Holy Grail album spread across eight 7" 45rpm records, this piece conceived by Grammy-nominated designer Brian Roettinger is cryptographically breathtaking," reads the collection's description on the TMR website.

If you can't make it out to Nashville, don't worry -- not all copies of the Magna Carta collection will be released Friday.

White and Jay Z have a history of collaboration, but the TMR reissue of Magna Carta is the first tangible release from the duo. Way back in 2010, White told British GQ that he'd recorded an album with the rapper, but so far, that album has yet to see the light of day. White has also been known to cover Jay Z's hit "99 Problems" during live shows.
