Kings of Leon’s “Waste a Moment,” the first single from the band’s seventh studio album, WALLS, in number on on this week's Billboard Alternative Songs chart. It’s the fifth time Kings of Leon have topped that particular chart, the magazine reports, but the first such accomplishment for the band in more than six years. Last month, WALLS debuted atop the Billboard 200 album chart.
Kings of Leon kick off their WALLS world tour in early January, although only 18 dates are set so far. Frontman Caleb Followill tells Billboard the band plans to take their live presentation to new heights. "We're pushing ourselves," he says. "We're going to do some really creative things, some things that not only we haven't done, but that not many rock bands do."
As for the set list, Followill says fans can expect variety, explaining, "With seven albums, we have probably 80-some songs and I feel like it's important to dip into that and not just go out there and play hits for people."
Caleb’s brother, bassist Jared Followill, says the big rock show approach makes sense in “the world we live in now,” adding, “The most impressed I've ever been at shows are the ones with awesome visuals, from Roger Waters to even when we toured with U2…It doesn't take the place of the music and you can't rely on it, but if you can add it to a good musical show it takes it to another level."
