Kurt Cobain was never known for being particularly outgoing with the media, but in a newly unearthed clip from MTV, the late Nirvana frontman is downright gregarious in a 1993 interview while discussing "The Dreamer," a machine that supposedly helps with dreaming and reducing stress.
"I've tried it," Cobain says of The Dreamer in the clip. "I dreamed about German shepherds and having sex with my stepfather and eating flowers and smoking potpourri.”
"It's really amazing, it really works," he adds.
At the beginning of the interview, which took place at Hollywood Rock Brazil in 1993, Cobain is playing with a Taser and pretends to shock the interviewer with it.
MTV also released a 38-minute uncut interview with Cobain, parts of which would be used for the network's 1994 documentary Nirvana: Past Present and Future. In that clip, Cobain talks about everything from his chronic stomach issues to his daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, the first fully authorized documentary about Cobain, will air on HBO May 4.
