Kurt Cobain “Montage of Heck” Documentary Adds Companion Book

Image Courtesy of Universal Music Group - Anton CorbijnThe first fully-authorized Kurt Cobain documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, will also come in book form. Publisher Insight Editions will release a companion book to the documentary about the late Nirvana frontman on April 7. The book will also be titled Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.

The book will feature "a mixture of animation stills, rare photography and other treasures from Kurt Cobain's personal archive," reports Rolling Stone. It also will contain extended transcripts of the interviews director Brett Morgen conducted for the documentary, as well as Morgen's personal thoughts on the project.

Morgen was granted full access to Cobain's archives by his daughter, Frances Bean, and his widow, Courtney Love, for the film. Frances Bean is one of the documentary's executive producers.

Montage of Heck the documentary will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in late January. It will air on HBO later this year.
