Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was recently interviewed on Mexico's Las Estrellas network, during which he criticized President Donald Trump's proposal to build a wall on the United States' southern border.
"I don't think the world needs any walls," Ulrich said. "I think we need to bring people together."
"Metallica travels all over the world, and through music we try to bring people together," he added. "So whether we're in Mexico or whether we're in Asia or whether we're in Europe or whatever, we encourage as many different people from as many different backgrounds to come together and share music and life and culture and all these experiences."
In other Metallica happenings, the band has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the apocalyptic video for "Spit Out the Bone," a track from their new album Hardwired...to Self-Destruct. You can check that out now on YouTube.
Metallica will be touring stadiums across North America this spring and summer in support of Hardwired...to Self-Destruct starting May 10 in Baltimore.
