ABC/Randy HolmesAfter many months of snippets and teaser videos, Linkin Park has at last announced the details of their new album. The seventh studio effort from Chester Bennington and company is titled One More Light, and will be released May 19.
One More Light includes the lead single "Heavy," which you can listen to now via LinkinPark.com. The track, which features guest vocals from pop singer Kiiara, certainly has a poppy feel.
"The band, with every album, every song we're trying to challenge ourselves," Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda tells Billboard. "We like to try new things. We want to explore new territory with the sounds and the songwriting. We've always been about mixing styles; I mean, Hybrid Theory was the name of our band before we changed it to Linkin Park."
"Linkin Park fans know that with every album you never know what you're going to get, and the style can change dramatically and different elements, different genres that we listen to might sit more in the forefront than others," he adds.
Linkin Park will be performing "Heavy" and discussing One More Light during a Facebook Live event today, which starts at 12 p.m. PT.
