Over the past year, Linkin Park has offered regular updates regarding the progress of their new album. However, when it comes to what the songs actually sound like, the band has kept things close to the vest. In their latest studio update, they still don't reveal any new music, but they do share a new lyric from one of the album's songs.
In the clip, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda discuss a song about "holding onto something that's pulling me down." They debate a few lyrics on the song that the rest of the band wants to tinker with, before eventually settling on the line, "Holding on, to something that I just can't carry/I keep dragging around what's bringing me down/If I just let go I'd be set free/Holding on, why is everything so heavy?"
You can listen to Bennington sing the new lyric now on YouTube.
Linkin Park's last album was 2014's The Hunting Party.
